Boardsox Surfboard Cover Sizing FAQ

Q: How do I choose the right size cover for my surfboard?

A: Measure your board’s length (in feet and inches) and width (at its widest point). Then pick the Boardsox size that is equal to or slightly larger than your board’s length.

Q: What if my board is between sizes?

A: Go up to the next size. It’s better to have a little extra room than a tight squeeze. You can always roll the end or use the drawstring to adjust the fit.

Q: Do your covers fit wide boards like fish or funboards?

A: Yes! We have specific shapes and sizes to suit everything from shortboards to chunky fish, mid-lengths, mals, and longboards. Just check the shape guide on each product page.

Q: What’s the difference between shortboard, fish, and longboard shapes?

• Shortboard – Narrow nose, streamlined fit.
• Fish – Wider template with more tail width room.
• Mid-Length/Hybrid – For fun shapes and eggy outlines.
• Longboard – Longer, roomier fit with rounded nose coverage.

Q: Will the cover fit over fins?

A: Yep! Our canvas has a little stretch and is built to fit over most fin setups, including large glass-on keels. Just go gently over bulkier quad or twin setups.

Q: Can I use a Boardsox inside a travel bag?

A: Absolutely. Many surfers double-up for max protection: Boardsox inside your travel coffin = zero wax melt, zero rail rash, zero sun damage.

Q: My board has a big nose or unusual tail – will it still fit?

A: If your board is a little unusual (think asymmetrical tail or step-up gun), send us your measurements and we’ll help you find the perfect fit. We also offer custom covers.

Q: Do you make custom sizes?
