Boardsox was born out of a sibling bond that runs as deep as their shared love for the ocean. Sarah and Dan, a dynamic duo separated by 17 years, share a story as unique as their brand. Sarah, the older sibling, was the one who first introduced Dan to surfing, igniting his passion for the waves. From her guidance on the board to their mutual exploration of the surf lifestyle, their connection grew stronger with every wave they shared.
Growing up by the ocean, Sarah and Dan were immersed in the surfing culture from an early age. Their weekends were spent riding waves, exploring coastlines, and absorbing the community spirit that defines the surfing lifestyle. These experiences not only fueled their love for the sport but also shaped their entrepreneurial journey.

Sarah was already 17 when Dan was born, which means she quite literally grew up before him… and then grew up with him.
By the time Dan arrived, Sarah had already lived a whole chapter of life. Then along came this grom with sand in his ears and salt in his veins, and surfing became the thread that quietly stitched their worlds together.
Sarah watched Dan fall head-first into surf culture — the early mornings, the busted boards, the never-ending hunt for better gear. Years later, that same obsession pulled them back together as business partners. Different life stages, wildly different perspectives, but a shared respect for surfing and doing things properly.
That 17-year age gap isn’t a footnote — it’s the edge.

The inception of Boardsox was inspired by a clear gap in the market: the need for durable, wax-resistant surfboard covers. Frustrated by the limitations of traditional nylon socks, which often tore and became sticky with wax, Dan and Sarah sought to create a product that was both functional and stylish.
More than a brand, Boardsox is a community. Sarah and Dan actively support ocean conservation efforts, collaborate with environmental organizations, and participate in initiatives to give back to the surfing world that has given them so much. Their mission is not just to protect the oceans but also to inspire others to do the same – one wave, one surfer, and one Boardsox at a time.
