Shortboards cop a hard life. Thrown in cars, leaned against walls, dragged across sand, stacked in vans and packed for trips. So why trust a long metal zipper running down the rail? The patented Easy Wing replaced it with nothing: a fabric tail that folds over and straps down, with no moving parts to corrode and no metal teeth running along your glass job.

Cut for a shortboard, 6'0 to 7'0. Riding a fish or a funboard? The Fish and Fun is cut wider through the middle.

Does it actually stay shut without a zip?

Yes. The Easy Wing folds over and straps down, and the tension holds tighter the fuller the bag is. It took eighteen months of prototypes and car park testing to get right, and it is the thing we patented. There is no zip to corrode, no teeth to run along your rail and nothing to jam when you are racing the tide.

Is this a travel bag or a day cover?

Both. 5mm high density foam throughout and 3D rail protection moulded around the rail handle daily use, and it holds up to being checked as luggage. It is lighter and less bulky than a traditional travel bag, which is the point. If you only want a day cover and you want it as light as possible, the canvas range is the one to look at.

Does wax stick to it?

The canvas is built to shrug off wax, dings and UV, and the vent panels stop the heat building up in the first place, so a hot car will not leave your board glued in. If wax is your main problem rather than travel, our canvas covers are coated on both faces specifically for it.

What size should I order?

The size that matches your board. This one runs 6'0, 6'3, 6'7 and 7'0. The wing self adjusts to the thickness, so you are not sizing up for a thicker board or for your fin.

How is this different from the canvas covers?

Padding and purpose. The zipperless range is padded throughout with 5mm high density foam plus 3D rail protection, and it is built to be checked as luggage. The canvas covers have a 5mm padded nose and are built to be the cover you grab every single day, light enough that you actually use it. Plenty of people own one of each.

Three years against manufacturing faults on the zipperless range. A seam, the stitching, the Easy Wing, the strap, the shoulder pad: if it fails, we repair it, replace it or refund it.

Repairs are free. We cut and sew these in Ocean Grove, so a claim goes to the people who made your cover rather than to an importer waiting on the next container. We also run The Wetsuit Repair Shack out of the same building, so fixing gear instead of binning it is how we already work.

Our canvas covers carry a lifetime warranty. The zipperless range is three years because it has moving parts and straps that a drawstring cover does not.
