Sizing a cover instead? Surfboard cover size guide
One measurement. All the fit.
Hat sizing needs just one number — your head circumference. Measure it once and it covers the whole range.
The distance around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, measured in centimetres. This is the only number you need.
- Grab a soft tape (or a piece of string to measure against a ruler).
- Wrap it around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, level and snug — not tight.
- Read in centimetres. Between sizes? Size up — the adjustable chin cord takes up any slack.

What size hat am I?
Enter your head circumference and we'll match you to a size — same answer for bucket hats and surf caps.
Head circumference just above the ears is the only number a hat needs — no length, no width, no maths.
Between sizes, always size up. Every hat has an adjustable chin cord, and a roomy hat that stays on beats a tight one every time.
Hat sizing FAQ
How do I measure my head?
Wrap a soft tape around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, level and snug but not tight, and read the number in centimetres. No tape? Use string and measure it against a ruler.
I'm between two sizes — which do I pick?
Size up. Every hat has an adjustable chin cord, and the Kids and adult fits have rear adjustment to take up the slack. A roomy hat that stays on beats a tight one.
Do bucket hats and surf caps use the same sizes?
Yes — one system across the range. Kids 51–53 cm, Small 54–55 cm, Medium 56–57 cm, Large 58–61 cm, for both bucket hats and surf caps.
Will it stay on in the surf?
That's the point of them — the adjustable chin cord keeps it on when you duck-dive, and it floats if it does come loose.
